Windsor Super Market

The Windsor Super Market is the only farmers market pavilion in the country designed and built entirely by high school students. Our first Studio H project, the 2000-square-foot structure was constructed by thirteen high school juniors from Bertie County, NC, where Studio H was born. Our students spent two semesters and the following summer researching, prototyping, engineering, and building the structure, as well as spearheading the launch of the local farmers market association in their hometown of 2000 people. The market was featured in Architectural Record and on NPR’s The Story with Dick Gordon, and has created 2 new businesses and 15 new jobs since its opening in October 2011. The story of the Windsor Super is told in our documentary film, If You Build It.
